Wheel good time Weekend of collectible cars and motorcycles benefits Boys& Girls Clubs
Get ready for an unforgettable weekend of philanthropy, comedy and an automobile and motorcycle display like no other.
The “Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance” will take place Feb. 20-22 at Boca Raton Resort & Club.
The event, now in its ninth year, will kick off Friday with the “duPont Registry™ Live Hangar Party” at Boca Raton Airport. Guests will have a chance to experience gourmet tastings from more than 20 of South Florida’s finest restaurants and peruse a fine display of exotic cars, custom motorcycles, extravagant boats, private jets, vintage aircrafts, luxury motor coaches and premier vendors.
Saturday features the black-tie optional “Gala Dinner Auction& Show” at Boca Raton Resort & Club. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by a seated dinner and live auction featuring one-of-a-kind trips and experience packages, luxury jewelry and more. Keith Crain and the Ed Morse AutomotiveGroup will be honored with the 2015 Automotive Lifetime Achievement Award. Avid car collector Ralph Marano will be the recipient of the Lee Iacocca Award. And back by popular demand, TV star and comedianHowie Mandel will perform.
The weekend concludes Sunday with the “Automobile& Motorcycle Exhibition” at Boca Raton Resort & Club, presented by Impala Asset Management. The showcase will feature more than 200 collector cars and motorcycles from around the country. An expert panel of judges will select the finest vehicles based on pre-set criteria, with awards going to the winning entries. Guests are also invited to walk through a series of vendor tents.
“Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance” was founded by Rita and Rick Case of Rick Case AutomotiveGroup. The event benefits the Boys& Girls Clubs of Broward County and the 12,500 children that attend the 12 clubs.
“The entire Concours team is comprised of a group of about 200 volunteers who dedicate their personal time to the event,” said Brian Quail, president/CEO of the Boys& Girls Clubs of Broward County. “In 2014, the event raised more than $1 million for the Boys& Girls Clubs, making the ‘Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance’ the fastest growing Concours in the nation and the world’s largest for charity.”
The event chair is James E. McDonnell IV, and the honorary chair is Mike Jackson. “Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance” is presented by Mercedes-Benz and AutoNation.
Tickets to Friday’s “Hangar Party” are $100. Tickets to Saturday’s “Gala Dinner Auction& Show” start at $500. Admission to Sunday’s “Automobile& Motorcycle Exhibition” are $60 for general admission and $125 for VIP access.
