Customers of Boca Raton’s Cinemark Palace 20 and XD will find a new restaurant, bar and grownup game room after a reopening on Thursday.

Expanding the number of amenities has been the norm for movie theaters across the region in recent years, as they compete with streaming services such as Netflix. Theaters have been showcasing features such as more comfortable seating and expanded concession stands.

Cinemark Holdings planned the remodel at the Boca theater, at 3200 Airport Road, after it took over the former Bogart’s Bar & Grill run by Rapaport’s Restaurant Group in November 2016. Customers also now will find a screening room upstairs, with 29 lounge seats for private parties.

The Movie Bistro opens to the public for lunch, dinner, happy hour and desserts at 10 a.m., whether guests are seeing a movie, according to the company. No kids under 18 are allowed after 5 p.m.

The casual eatery upstairs on the premier level features an open dining area that seats 249, a full-service bar that seats 34, high- and lowtop dining tables, the game room and TVs. The company offers free valet parking and popcorn with premier level tickets, depending on the movie and time of day.
