AAA’s “stamp of approval” will be on AutoNation’s auto service centers’ repairs.

Fort Lauderale-based AutoNation, the nation’s largest auto retailer, on Wednesday announced a new partnership with AAA on auto repair certification.

AutoNation is AAA’s first national “Approved Auto Repair” program partner, with more than 220 service centers currently under the program.

The certification signals to consumers that AutoNation service centers meet AAA’s standards on customer satisfaction, technician training and community reputation.

“The AAA stamp of approval indicates that the work will be done right, for a fair price, while delivering a great customer experience,” said Margaret Pittelkow, vice president, AAA Automotive.

AutoNation owns and operates more than 325 locations across the country.

The company recently announced the acquisition of the southern California dealership Shelly BMW, as well as the signing of an agreement to acquire Trade Secret Auto Care, a collision center in Plano, Texas.

Additionally, the company has expanded its partnership with self-driving vehicle maker Waymo beyond long-term maintenance and repairs of Waymo’s fleet. AutoNation now has the exclusive ability to offer its customers in Phoenix, Ariz., the use of a Waymo to move around the city while their personal vehicles are being serviced at AutoNation dealerships.
