Man charged with pointing rifle at people
EASTON — An East New Market man is being held without bond at the Talbot County Detention Center after allegedly being intoxicated and pointing an assault rifle at several people in Easton, police said.
Police identified the man as Kenneth H. Walton Jr., 53, who was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 17.
According to police, around 6:50 p.m. Thursday, officers of the Easton Police Department were dispatched to 28595 Mary’s Court in Easton in reference to a man with a gun.
Police said Walton was driving his vehicle, and when people tried to stop him because he was allegedly intoxicated, he pulled out an AR-15 and pointed it at several people.
Officers responding to the scene detained Walton and inside his vehicle found a Colt AR-15 assault rifle and three 30-round loaded magazines. Police said Walton also allegedly smelled like alcohol.
Walton is charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, intoxicated endangerment, dangerous weaponintent to injure and several driving charges.
