Harris’ office to host military academy forum
WYE MILLS — On Wednesday, Sept. 20, the office of U.S. Rep. Andy Harris, RMd.-1st, will host a Militar y Ser vice Academy Resource Forum for high school students in Maryland’s First Con- gressional District.
All college-bound high school and eighth-grade students interested in attending a service academy and their parents are encouraged to attend the event, which will run from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Todd Performing Arts Center at Chesapeake College.
Harris has invited representatives from West Point and the Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine and Naval Academies to attend. The congressman’s staff will explain Harris’ role in the nomination process.
“This event is an excellent opportunity for high school and eighth-grade students to explore their options for higher education,” according to a statement from the congressman’s office.
The deadline to apply for a nomination from Harris is Oct. 30. Students can download the nomination application at https://harris.house.gov/services/military-acad emy-nominations.
