Po­lice in­ves­ti­gat­ing ap­par­ent drown­ings

FEDERALSBURG — Lo­cal law en­force­ment agen­cies are in­ves­ti­gat­ing two ap­par­ent drown­ings from sep­a­rate in­ci­dents that oc­curred Thurs­day night and Fri­day morn­ing in Dorch­ester and Caro­line coun­ties.

Ac­cord­ing to Eastern Shore Fire/EMS/Po­lice Break­ing News’ Face­book page, the first in­ci­dent oc­curred at about 8:45 p.m. Thurs­day, Oct. 5, when a ve­hi­cle drove from Main Street in Sec­re­tary into the War­wick River.

Ac­cord­ing to the Dorch­ester County Sher­iff’s Of­fice, a man was pulled from the car, and later pro­nounced dead at Univer­sity of Mary­land Shore Med­i­cal Cen­ter at Dorch­ester in Cam­bridge. The sher­iff’s of­fice has not re­leased ad­di­tional in­for­ma­tion about the in­ci­dent with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion on­go­ing.

The fol­low­ing morn­ing at about 11:40 a.m., ac­cord­ing to Eastern Shore Fire/EMS/Po­lice Break­ing News’ Face­book page, emer­gency per­son­nel were called to East Cen­tral Ave., and Cham­bers Lake Drive in Federalsburg for an ap­par­ent drown­ing.

Federalsburg po­lice are lead­ing the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, but have not been able to re­lease de­tails about the in­ci­dent with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion on­go­ing.
