Scare­crows usher in Fall into St. Michaels

A scare­crow smiles from a util­ity pole in front of the St. Michaels Post Of­fice on Fri­day, Oct. 13. Fall into St. Michaels fes­tiv­i­ties started this week­end with a town­wide scare­crow con­test on Saturday. Par­tic­i­pat­ing area busi­nesses spon­sored the scare­crows, with prizes of­fered for Tra­di­tional, whim­si­cal or hu­mor­ous. There also is the cov­eted Peo­ple’s Choice Award, where vis­i­tors can vote on­line for their fa­vorite scare­crow. The Peo­ple’s Choice Win­ner will be an­nounced on Mon­day and can be seen on the “Visit St. Michaels” Face­book page. Next week­end, Fall into St. Michaels will go into full swing with the an­nual Pump­kin Carv­ing Con­test, Pump­kin Pie Com­pe­ti­tion, St. Michaels Mu­seum guided town tours, an­nual food drive for the needy and Jack Russell Ter­rier Races.
