Dixon Valve re­ceives pre­lim­i­nary OK for new head­quar­ters

CHESTERTOWN — With­out dis­sent, the plan­ning com­mis­sion on Dec. 20 granted pre­lim­i­nary site plan ap­proval for the Dixon Valve & Cou­pling Co. head­quar­ters, phase two of the Chestertown Busi­ness Cam­pus that will trans­form the north­ern gate­way to town.

Bryan Matthews, vice pres­i­dent of KRM Devel­op­ment Corp., told the Chestertown Plan­ning Com­mis­sion the ten­ta­tive time­line to break ground is in Septem­ber. It will take about a year to com­plete the project, he said.

Work is un­der­way on phase one of the Chestertown Busi­ness Cam­pus, which is ac­cessed by Haacke Drive. Ground was bro­ken in June for a 150,000-square-foot ware­house. Our pho­to­graph was taken Tues­day, Dec. 26.
