Charles A. Billups


CEN­TRE­VILLE — Charles Aubrey Billups of Cen­tre­ville, Md., passed away on Sept. 30, 2018. He was 54.

Born on March 23, 1964, in Lynch­burg, Va., he was the son of Jolly Mor­ton Phillips of Stevensville, Md., and Aubrey Bar­bour Lynch­burg, Va. Charles grew up on Kent Is­land since he was 7 years old and grad­u­ated from Queen Anne’s County High School, class of 1982, and James Madi­son Univer­sity in 1987.

Charles is a mem­ber of Theta Chi Fra­ter­nity. He worked for var­i­ous res­tau­rants, in­clud­ing Yachts­man Inn and Hem­ing­way’s, along with be­ing a man­ager at stores in­clud­ing Sears and Tar­get. Charles was cur­rently a re­tail man­ager at To­tal Wines

and More in Clay­ton, Del. He liked to travel, fish and hike. He also loved the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay and be­ing on the water.

Charles leaves to mourn his mother, Jolly Mor­ton Phillips and her hus­band Hu­bert of Stevensville, Md.; fa­ther, Aubrey Bar­bour of Lynch­burg, Va.; ex-wife, Jenny Billups of Blue Bell, Pa.; mother of son, Jack­son Billups; daugh­ter, Aubrey Billups; sis­ters, Rochelle Billups of Stevensville, Md., Sharon Marie Bryan and her hus­band Gary of Gra­sonville, Md., Su­san Ham­lett Evans

and her hus­band Davis of Lynch­burg, Va.; fi­ancée, Kelly Nash of Cen­tre­ville, Md.; and a host of nieces, neph­ews and cousins.

He was pre­de­ceased by his sis­ter, Cherry Billups Hughes; and his ma­ter­nal grand­par­ents, Charles and Mary Mi­nor.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held on Satur­day, Oct. 13,

1 p.m. at the Fel­lows, Helfen­bein & New­nam Fu­neral Home P.A. in Cen­tre­ville, Md., where friends and fam­ily may visit be­gin­ning at 11 a.m.
