Charles A. Billups
CENTREVILLE — Charles Aubrey Billups of Centreville, Md., passed away on Sept. 30, 2018. He was 54.
Born on March 23, 1964, in Lynchburg, Va., he was the son of Jolly Morton Phillips of Stevensville, Md., and Aubrey Barbour Lynchburg, Va. Charles grew up on Kent Island since he was 7 years old and graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School, class of 1982, and James Madison University in 1987.
Charles is a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He worked for various restaurants, including Yachtsman Inn and Hemingway’s, along with being a manager at stores including Sears and Target. Charles was currently a retail manager at Total Wines
and More in Clayton, Del. He liked to travel, fish and hike. He also loved the Chesapeake Bay and being on the water.
Charles leaves to mourn his mother, Jolly Morton Phillips and her husband Hubert of Stevensville, Md.; father, Aubrey Barbour of Lynchburg, Va.; ex-wife, Jenny Billups of Blue Bell, Pa.; mother of son, Jackson Billups; daughter, Aubrey Billups; sisters, Rochelle Billups of Stevensville, Md., Sharon Marie Bryan and her husband Gary of Grasonville, Md., Susan Hamlett Evans
and her husband Davis of Lynchburg, Va.; fiancée, Kelly Nash of Centreville, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Cherry Billups Hughes; and his maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Minor.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13,
1 p.m. at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home P.A. in Centreville, Md., where friends and family may visit beginning at 11 a.m.
