For more than six decades, she worked full-time as a bookkeeper for various local Boston companies, fully retiring at the age of 85. Following over 50 years in Wayland, she moved to Easton in 2010 to be near her daughter, making new friends and finding new adventures.

An ardent opera lover, Mary surrounded herself with music and was known for breaking out into song

at any given moment.

She created beautiful gardens, had an eye for decorating, and enjoyed cooking, collecting and reading. She was proud of her Italian heritage, taking any opportunity to teach someone a few Italian phrases.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Pat, after only 17 years of marriage, as well as her younger brothers, Louis and Patrick, and their wives, Elizabeth and Marguerite. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Lisa Hawkins and her husband Craig Hawkins of Easton, Md.; granddaughter, Allegra Hawkins of Jersey City, N.J.; and several nieces, nephews and
