DEN­TON — Charles “Buck” Willis of Den­ton, Md., passed away Wed­nes­day, Oct. 3, 2018, at Au­tumn Lake Health­care at Den­ton. He was 95 years old.

Born in An­der­son­town near Den­ton, Mr. Willis was the son of the late Edgar South­ern Willis and Su­san Marie Hunter Willis. His wife, El­iz­a­beth Trib­bitt Willis, died Jan. 25, 2017.

Mr. Willis grad­u­ated from Caro­line High School in Den­ton. He was a U.S. Army WWII vet­eran, hav­ing served in the Western Pa­cific dur­ing the lib­er­a­tion of the Philip­pines. He be­came the Fore­man of the Del­vale Ice Cream Plant in Den­ton, later re­tir­ing in

1984 from the South­land Dairy Com­pany. He was a past com­man­der of Caro­line Amer­i­can Le­gion Post

29 in Den­ton.

Mr. Willis is sur­vived by a daugh­ter, Suzanne W. Sch­mick (Steve) of Den­ton; a son, Charles Willis (Norma John­son) of Lewes, Del.; one sis­ter, Ann Lord of Den­ton; four grand­chil­dren; and two great­grand­chil­dren. In ad­di­tion to his wife, Mr. Willis was pre­ceded in death by nine broth­ers and sis­ters, Helen,

Ed­ward, Harry, Ruth, Dick, Mar­garet, Wil­liam, Mary and Florence.

An Amer­i­can Le­gion me­mo­rial ser­vice will start at noon on Tues­day, Oct. 9, at the Moore Fu­neral Home P.A., lo­cated at 12 S. 2nd St. in Den­ton im­me­di­ately fol­lowed by the fu­neral ser­vices. There will be a view­ing/visi­ta­tion from 11 un­til noon be­fore the ser­vice. The in­ter­ment will be in the Den­ton ceme­tery.
