CENTREVILLE — A gathering honoring the life of Michael Bret Greiner will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 200 S. Harrison St., Easton, MD 21601.
Bret’s death came unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at the Pines in Easton, where he was to begin physical therapy treatment after being hospitalized at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton for several weeks.
Bret was born at the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md., on Dec. 23, 1959, he was 58.
In his boyhood, Bret loved being on the farm with his Pop Pop Meredith at Poplar Grove Farm near Centreville.
He attended Easton High School.
Bret was a noted marine mechanic for over 35 years, most recently employed with Wye Marine near Wye Mills.
He was also an avid waterman, fisherman and hunter. His love was his dog, Casey, and being on the water.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Meredith Hotchkiss and husband Bruce of Easton; sister, Karen G. Leonard and husband Bobby of Tunis Mills; niece, Lindsay Long of Tunis Mills; and nephew, Mitch Hughes of Trappe.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Catherine Meredith of Centreville, William and Helen Greiner of Queen Anne; and father, W. Allen Greiner.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to an association or charity of their choice.
