Equal rights for all

Tampa Bay Times - - Opinion -

The original message of black athletes taking a knee during the national anthem was to highlight the societal damage caused by police selectively enforcing the law against African-Americans. The criminal justice system does that, whether intentionally or not. Taking a knee has been interpreted as anti-flag and anti-American, both accusations easy to make, but misplaced. Their issue was and is a constitutional right to equal protection under the law, and African-Americans don’t have it yet.
