What would Jesus do?
HUD Secretary Ben Carson wants to increase rents 44 percent for low-income citizens, including “tens of thousands of families in subsidized housing in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties.”
From the examples given in the Times article it’s clear that such a rise is beyond the means of many current renters. This means instant homelessness.
Carson has what has become a rather famous painting hung in the entrance of his home. It depicts two portraits: Ben Carson and Jesus. Carson is in the foreground.
The HUD secretary should look long and hard at the painting. He may never be nearer to God than that.
