Tampa Bay lags in metro job growth
When it comes to long-term job growth among large metro areas, Tampa Bay is hardly a front-runner. Forbes’ recent “Best Cities for Jobs 2018” study says Tampa Bay ranked 20th among large metros. Among other Florida cities, Orlando took the No. 6 spot and Jacksonville No. 14. Miami clocked in at No. 29. The study evaluated metro areas based on job creation — including short, medium and long term — beginning in 2006. Leading the large metros was Dallas, followed by Austin, Texas, and Nashville.
