• RHP Chris Archer on Thursday made his 170th career start, tying LHP David Price for second most in franchise history behind RHP James Shields’ 217.

• Going into Thursday’s game, the Rays had not announced a Saturday starter. LHP Ryan Yarbrough is lined up, but with the Angels right-hand heavy lineup, the Rays could use a righty reliever. • Robertson, a SoCal native, has about 200 friends and relatives coming Saturday, in part as a fundraiser organized by his mom, Julie, for his foundation, and 50-100 the other days.

• This is the Rays’ first road trip of 11 or more games since 2016 and the first through three time zones since 2008. It’s also the third of four three-city road trips to start the season, which is a first in their 21-year history.

• At 22 years and 352 days, INF Christian Arroyo is the youngest position player to debut for the Rays since Wil Myers (22 years, 190 days) in 2013.
