LB Beckwith improves
Time is ticking for second-year LB Kendell Beckwith, who was cleared to return to practice late last month after a car wreck that injured his ankle placed him on the nonfootball-injury active list to open the season.
The Bucs have a 21-day window to decide whether to place Beckwith on the active roster or place him on the nonfootball injury inactive list, which would end his season. Koetter said Friday that Beckwith wouldn’t be activated for Sunday’s game, but he had shown improvement.
“Kendell had a much better week this week than he did last week,” Koetter said. “It will be a combination of the doctors. The doctors have to give him full clearance and then he’s going to have to feel good about it. I’ll just say that it’s a lot brighter today than it was three days ago.”
The Bucs have until Nov. 20 to make their roster decision, so Beckwith has one more week of practice to show he’s healthy.
