HOUSTON PARKER

NASHVILLE, Ark.—Houston S. Parker, 89 of Dierks, Ark., died Wednesday, Dec., 2016, in Dierks.

Mr. Parker was born Aug. 28, 1927 in Center Point, Ark. He was a retired security guard for Weyerhaeuser and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Parker.

His survivors include his wife, Effie Parker of Dierks; three children; Judy Coleman and Calvin Parker of Dierks and Sherry Crews of Prescott, Ark.; two brothers, Fred Parker, Sr. and Wayne Parker of Nashville; three sisters, Lavon Reed and Joyce Sharp of Dierks and Carolyn of Murfreesboro, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with J.W. Gilbert and Calvin Parker officiating. Burial will be in Sunshine Cemetery under direction of Nashville Funeral Home.
