Bobby “Fergy” Fer­gu­son, 84, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tues­day, Feb. 14, 2017, after a short ill­ness.

Mr. Fer­gu­son was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Min­den, La. He was for­mer mayor of Texarkana, Ar­kan­sas, a for­mer phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal sales­man with Walsh-Lump­kin Drug Co., for­mer mem­ber of City of Texarkana, Ark., Board of Di­rec­tors, Mu­nic­i­pal League, Na­tional League of Cities, Miller County Quo­rum Court, Texarkana Ar­kan­sas School Board, Genoa Wa­ter Dis­trict and Ar­kan­sas Mo­tor Ve­hi­cle Com­mis­sion; a part­ner in restau­rant work and Porky’s Food Ser­vice along with Jerry Shipp, and an Army vet­eran.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife, Mar­tine; three chil­dren and two spouses, El­iz­a­beth and Rusty Suggett, Collins Fer­gu­son and Kather­ine and Joseph Hosey; four grand­chil­dren, Stephanie East, Stephen Fer­gu­son, Melanie Mosley and An­drew Fer­gu­son; four great-grand­chil­dren; and a num­ber of other rel­a­tives.

Ser­vices will be 2 p.m. to­day at East Fu­neral Home, Down­town, with Craig Jenk­ins officiating. Burial will be in East Me­mo­rial Gar­dens Ceme­tery.
