Bobby “Fergy” Ferguson, 84, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, after a short illness.
Mr. Ferguson was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Minden, La. He was former mayor of Texarkana, Arkansas, a former pharmaceutical salesman with Walsh-Lumpkin Drug Co., former member of City of Texarkana, Ark., Board of Directors, Municipal League, National League of Cities, Miller County Quorum Court, Texarkana Arkansas School Board, Genoa Water District and Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission; a partner in restaurant work and Porky’s Food Service along with Jerry Shipp, and an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Martine; three children and two spouses, Elizabeth and Rusty Suggett, Collins Ferguson and Katherine and Joseph Hosey; four grandchildren, Stephanie East, Stephen Ferguson, Melanie Mosley and Andrew Ferguson; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at East Funeral Home, Downtown, with Craig Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
