ATLANTA, Texas—Sam Houston Turner, 74, of Dallas died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, in Dallas. Mr. Turner was born July 3, 1942, in New Boston, Texas. He was a high explosive operator with Lone Star Army Ammunition Plantandamember of Prosperity Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Vanessa Sims; nine sisters, Gladys Hasbrouck, Ethel Robinson, Virginia Minor, Dorothy Battle, Joyce Garvin, Lois Jackson, Carolyn Gooden, Felicia House and Tammy Thompson; nine brothers, Robert Turner, Lorenzo Turner, Don Noel, Chet Turner, Lynn Turner-Harris, Joe Thompson, Billy Thompson, Greg Thompson and Steve Thompson; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Prosperity Baptist Church with David Hood officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.
The body may be viewed noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
