AT­LANTA, Texas—Sam Hous­ton Turner, 74, of Dal­las died Wed­nes­day, Feb. 8, 2017, in Dal­las. Mr. Turner was born July 3, 1942, in New Bos­ton, Texas. He was a high ex­plo­sive op­er­a­tor with Lone Star Army Am­mu­ni­tion Plan­tan­damem­ber of Pros­per­ity Bap­tist Church.

Sur­vivors in­clude one daugh­ter, Vanessa Sims; nine sis­ters, Gla­dys Has­brouck, Ethel Robin­son, Virginia Mi­nor, Dorothy Bat­tle, Joyce Garvin, Lois Jack­son, Carolyn Gooden, Feli­cia House and Tammy Thomp­son; nine brothers, Robert Turner, Lorenzo Turner, Don Noel, Chet Turner, Lynn Turner-Har­ris, Joe Thomp­son, Billy Thomp­son, Greg Thomp­son and Steve Thomp­son; and a num­ber of other rel­a­tives.

Ser­vices will be 1 p.m. Satur­day at Pros­per­ity Bap­tist Church with David Hood officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Ceme­tery un­der di­rec­tion of Cole­man-At­lanta Fu­neral Home.

The body may be viewed noon to 1 p.m. Satur­day at the church.
