John­nie Faye Fomby, age 89, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thurs­day, Septem­ber 14, 2017 at her daugh­ter’s home in Stuttgart, Arkansas.

Mrs. Fomby was born Fe­bru­ary 5, 1928 in Maud, Texas. She was re­tired from Red River Army De­pot and a mem­ber of Pleas­ant Grove Chris­tian Church. She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, of fifty two years , Robert “Bob” Emmett Fomby, her par­ents, John and Ma­bel Vandygriff and ten broth­ers and sis­ters.

John­nie was a de­voted mother, grand­mother, great grand­mother, sis­ter and friend.

She is sur­vived by her chil­dren: daugh­ter, Rita Bivens and hus­band Har­rell of Heath, Texas; daugh­ter, Pam Starks and hus­band David of Stuttgart, Arkansas; one son, Mark Fomby and wife Mona of Texarkana, Texas; daugh­ter, Terri Bow­er­man and her hus­band Doug of Heath, Texas; eight grand­chil­dren: Brent Bivens and wife Christie of Heath, Texas; Matt Bivens and Ste­fan Hayner of Ft. Worth, Texas; Kris­ten Gib­son and hus­band

Texas; Rachel Fomby of Dal­las, Texas; Cody Starks and Mary Estes of Haughton, Louisiana; Jack Bow­er­man of Heath, Texas; Sam Bow­er­man of Heath, Texas; and Abby Bow­er­man of Heath, Texas; four great grand­chil­dren; Pres­ley Bivens, Emer­son Bivens, Landry Bivens, of Heath, Texas; Gianna Estes of Haughton, Louisiana; and a num­ber of other rel­a­tives.

Funeral ser­vices will be 2:00 P. M. Mon­day at Chapel­wood Funeral Home Chapel with

Rev. Jeff Tay­lor of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will be in Chapel­wood Me­mo­rial Gar­dens.

Memo­ri­als may be made to the Amer­i­can Can­cer So­ci­ety, 1301 S. Broad­way Ave., Tyler, Texas 75701.

The fam­ily will re­ceive friends at the funeral home Mon­day af­ter­noon from 1:00 to 2:00 P. M.

Pri­vate com­mit­tal ser­vice will fol­low the ser­vice.
