PG ten­nis team sweeps L-E

Pleas­ant Grove’s var­sity ten­nis team swept Lib­erty-Ey­lau in the sec­ond round of Dis­trict 14-4A play, 10-0, at Texarkana Col­lege ten­nis courts.

The Hawks play Atlanta to­day back at Texarkana Col­lege at 10 a.m. in the fi­nal round of dis­trict com­pe­ti­tion.

Foot­ball Leop­ards roll past Wild­cats

PARIS, Texas—Kor­byn White had two touch­downs to lead Lib­erty-Ey­lau’s ju­nior var­sity to a 40-7 win over Paris.

Damien Hen­der­son, Talvyion Cooper, and Shayne Por­she each had one touch­down for the Leop­ards.

Tyler Parks had an in­ter­cep­tion and was a stand­out on de­fense for L-E.

The Wild­cats won the 9th grade game, 20-12. Se­mon­dre Lewis and Ah­ma­jay Carter each had 1-yard TD runs for the Leop­ards. Stand­outs in­cluded the of­fen­sive line and Taky­lan Hamp­ton and Josh Gam­ble on de­fense.

THS frosh win

Texas High won the 9th grade game over vis­it­ing Sul­phur Springs, 36-18.

De­quarreon Col­lier scored three times for the Tigers, in­clud­ing a 91-yard in­ter­cep­tion re­turn. Col­lier also had a 4-yard run and a 2-yard dive for a TD.

Quar­ter­back Rian Cellers tossed two scores, hit­ting Mon­tre Arnold for a 71-yard strike and Clay­ton Smith for 48 yards. Cellers also con­nected with Smith on a 2-point con­ver­sion, and Von­trey An­der­son and Arnold also had 2-pointers.

Tigers de­feat Hor­nets

MOUNT VERNON, Texas— Mount Vernon’s ju­nior var­sity de­feated Hooks at home, 14-7.

TJ Rigsby put the Hor­nets on the board with his 32-yard touch­down run.

Miguel Her­erra booted the ex­tra point for Hooks., while team­mate Rhett Ash­more re­turned a fum­ble 12-yards for the Hor­net de­fense.

Hooks, Ore City split

ORE CITY, Texas—Ore City’s 8th grade squad blanked Hooks, 24-0.

The Hor­nets 7th grade team de­feated Ore City, 31-8.

Lo­gan Davis scored twice for Hooks on runs of 15 and 71 yards.

Matthew Hays scored on a 10-yard run, 2-point con­ver­sion and also kicked an ex­tra point for the Hor­nets.

David Gar­cia scored two 2-point con­ver­sions and Kameron Choate scored on a 5-yard run for Hooks.

The Hor­nets are 3-1 over­all and 3-0 in dis­trict play. Watkins’ score lifts Hogs

Mar’qua­vi­ous Watkins had a 35-yard touch­down run as North Heights’ 8th de­feated De Queen, 6-3, at Ra­zor­back Sta­dium.

Lo­gan Wil­liams had an in­ter­cep­tion for the Hogs, while team­mates Chris Kennedy and Billy Davis each had one fum­ble re­cov­ery.

North Heights’ 8th grade plays at Pine Bluff Thurs­day at 5:30 p.m., while the Hogs’ 7th grade squad hosts De Queen Mon­day at 5:30 p.m.

Li­ons’ JV fall to Bull­dogs

NEW BOS­TON, Texas— Ty­rone Hunter scored a 5-yard touch­down run and added the 2-point con­ver­sion, but the Li­ons’ ju­nior var­sity fell to Jef­fer­son, 20-8.

Josh Packard had an in­ter­cep­tion for New Bos­ton.

Caiden Jack­son had a 1-yard touch­down run for New Bos­ton, but it fell to Jef­fer­son, 28-8, in the 8th grade game.

Clay Fant added a 2-point con­ver­sion run for the Li­ons.

Jef­fer­son won the 7th grade game, 16-0.

Tigers’ 8th pre­vails

SUL­PHUR SPRINGS, Texas— Tae­shaun Richard­son caught two touch­down passes from Brayson McHenry and ran in a 2-point con­ver­sion to power Texas Mid­dle School’s 8th grade A team over Sul­phur Springs, 22-6.

Richard­son had catches of 60 and five yards, while team­mate Javarous Tyson had a 90-yard in­ter­cep­tion re­turn. Jalen Wood­side had a 2-point con­ver­sion run for the Tigers.

TMS’s Pa­tric Har­ris had an in­ter­cep­tion, and the coaches praised the spe­cial teams.

Mar­cell Beaver had touch­down runs of 65 and 15 yards as Texas Mid­dle School’s 8th grade B team de­feated Sul­phur Springs, 14-6.

Keyshawn Hill threw a 2-point con­ver­sion pass to Michael Thomas for the Tigers.

TMS hosts Mount Pleas­ant Thurs­day at 5:30 p.m. Both 8th grade squads are un­de­feated in dis­trict play at 2-0.

Dainger­field tops DeKalb

DEKLAB, Texas— Dainger­field’s ju­nior var­sity squad de­feated DeKalb on the road, 32-0.

DeKalb’s 8th grade team fell to Dainger­field, 24-0.

The 7th grade Bears de­feated Dainger­field, 34-30.

Amar Love scored two touch­downs for DeKalb on runs of 52 and 6 yards. Love also scored two 2-point con­ver­sions.

Wy­att Hug­gins scored two touch­downs for the Bears on runs of 6 yards.

Kaleb Doo­ley fin­ished the scor­ing for DeKalb with his 5-yard run.

Red­wa­ter trumps Sabine

RED­WA­TER, Texas—Pre­ston Davis three touch­down per­for­mance pro­pelled Red­wa­ter past Sabine in the ju­nior var­sity con­test, 43-20.

Davis scored on runs of 2, 9 and 45 yards. Davis also com­pleted a 2-point con­ver­sion.

Lo­gan John­son scored two rush­ing touch­downs for the Dragons.

John­son also caught a 25-yard pass from Davis.

Ned Ka­paski scored a two point con­ver­sion and also kicked a ex­tra point for Red­wa­ter.

Red­wa­ter’s 8th grade squad fell to Sabine in a thriller, 46-44.

Jonathan Ketchum led the Dragons with four touch­downs and two 2-point con­ver­sions. Ketchum scored on runs of 30, 40, 50 and 65 yards.

Mal­colm Brown scored on runs of 1 and 18 yards for Red­wa­ter and also scored two 2-point con­ver­sions. Brown re­cov­ered a fum­ble on the 50-yard line at the end of the game that gave the Dragons of­fense a chance in the fi­nal min­utes. The Dragons are 4-1. Red­wa­ter hosts New Bos­ton on Thurs­day. Kick­off is at 4:30 p.m.

Queen City sweeps

QUEEN CITY, Texas— De­mar­ques Gam­ble and Vonte Frank each scored twice to help Queen City’s ju­nior var­sity beat New Diana, 44-30, at SmithWall Sta­dium.

Gam­ble had a 22-yard TD run and hauled in a 75-yard strike from Tallen Boone. Frank added a 17-yard jaunt and a 26-yard in­ter­cep­tion re­turn to pay­dirt, Damir Ras­coe re­turned a kick­off 65 for a TD, and Josh Davis added a 3-yard plunge. Drake Moore twice, Frank and Boone each had a 2-point run.

Austin Perry’s two rush­ing touch­downs whisked Queen City’s 8th grade squad past New Diana, 38-0, to re­main un­beaten at 4-0.

D’Clayvion Jiles added two rush­ing touch­downs and two 2-point con­ver­sions for the Bull­dogs in the rout. Imahd Hicks added a touch­down and two 2-point con­ver­sions for Queen City.

The 7th grade Bull­dogs de­feated New Diana, 16-0, to im­prove to 2-2

Jeremiah Dray­ton and Lo­gan Oas each scored rush­ing touch­downs for Queen City. Howard Green com­pleted two 2-point con­ver­sions for the Bull­dogs.

The Bull­dogs travel to Ore City on Thurs­day.
