Jean Morris Ward

Jean Morris Ward, passed away on March 9, 2018 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. She was born on December 24, 1936 to Horace Morris and Ruth Ferrell Morris in Soules, Texas.

She was a retired teacher and a member of Tennison Memorial United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant.

Jean is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Monty and Candy Ward of Cookville; daughter and son-in-law Julie and Rick Loveless of Mount Pleasant; daughter and son-in-law Missy and Mike White of Texarkana; grandchildren Nathan and Lindsey Merchant, Audrey and Kyle Millen, Emilly Ward, Kelsey Ward, Lee Loveless, Mason White, Austin White, and Mitchell Ward; great grandchildren Natalie Merchant and Sadie Merchant; brother Rex Morris of Gilmer; brother and sister-in-law Joe and Sherry Morris of Gladewater; and sister and brother-in-law Martha and Charles Lee of Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry D. Ward; and her parents.

A funeral for Jean will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Tennison Memorial United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Burial will follow the service at Farmers Academy Cemetery.
