SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

-

Even though a behavior is legal that does make it right in the sight of God. Though those who choose abortion or assist in abortion may say it is my body, it is my choice, they carry a heavy burden of guilt. Though two people insist that it is their personal right to reject God’s order for marriage, one man and one woman in a life-long public commitment, they are still bothered that grandpa and grandma don’t approve. When the culture and the government redefine marriage and legalize murder, they become accomplices in making many troubled people.

When one is assured that his way of life is acceptable, one does not readily repent. But for those who despite culture and government “come to themselves”, as did the prodigal son (Luke 15:17), there is forgiveness and peace. Jesus Christ invites, “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). He invites you because He took upon Himself at the cross all the guilt, pain, and eternal punishment which sin earns.

True repentance includes a desire to live as God commands. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me," Jesus goes on to say, "for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Sunday service time is 9:00 a.m.
