Commissioners launch municipal economic development initiative
D2YLET2W1 - ThH Bucks County Board of Commissioners is launching a new initiative that will focus County resources on ensuring the continued and expanded economic prosperity of Bucks County and its R4 municipalities.
Bucks County’s adopted economic development goals were established in the OMNM report of the bconomic aevelopment Advisory Board, An Action mlan for mrogress. lne of the six goals - bngaging our junicipal martners – is the foundation for this new program.

This is a voluntary program for the junicipalities, where the county will assist municipal governments by devoting resources ensuring Bucks County’s continued economic vitality and growth.
“The gist of this effort is to change the mindset,” noted CommissiRnHU 5REHUW LRughery. “kow it’s time we look at another way to lead. ft’s voluntary, but it gives us the chance to work with all R4 municipalities, if they ask.”
The hallmarks of the program include guidance from the staff of the mlanning Commission in land use, data and commerce; services such as transportation studies and demographics analysis; access to grant information and application assistance; and information sharing.
The commissioners UHFRgnizH WhDW BuFNs County’s economy is tied to national and international conditions, but understand that does not mean it is time to sit back and wait for global changes.
