Legion announces plans for Oktoberfest
hnowles-Doyle American Legion Post 317 will host its annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 6 in the rear of the Legion Hall, located at 215 South Main Street, Yardley Borough. The festivities begin at noon and continue to 5 p.m. German bratwurst, a scoop of German-style potato salad and sauerkraut will be available for A7. In addition, real German beer will be on tap at a cost of A4 per 12 ounce glass. Other food, such as hot dogs as well as soft drinks will be available for children. The event will be held under a tent which will be set up in the rear parking lot of the facility. This is the third year this event has been held and it promises to be better than ever. “We’ve learned a lot from the past two years and have made a number of improvements to take the concerns of the entire family into consideration,” said Legion Commander Bill Tropia. “cor anyone who is of German heritage, this is a good way to make contact with your roots. But it is not limited to just those with such a background. Everyone is welcome!” There will be plenty of old world atmosphere.
