Le­gion an­nounces plans for Ok­to­ber­fest

hnowles-Doyle Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 317 will host its an­nual Ok­to­ber­fest on Satur­day, Oct. 6 in the rear of the Le­gion Hall, lo­cated at 215 South Main Street, Yardley Bor­ough. The fes­tiv­i­ties be­gin at noon and continue to 5 p.m. Ger­man bratwurst, a scoop of Ger­man-style potato salad and sauer­kraut will be avail­able for A7. In ad­di­tion, real Ger­man beer will be on tap at a cost of A4 per 12 ounce glass. Other food, such as hot dogs as well as soft drinks will be avail­able for chil­dren. The event will be held un­der a tent which will be set up in the rear park­ing lot of the fa­cil­ity. This is the third year this event has been held and it prom­ises to be bet­ter than ever. “We’ve learned a lot from the past two years and have made a num­ber of im­prove­ments to take the con­cerns of the en­tire fam­ily into con­sid­er­a­tion,” said Le­gion Com­man­der Bill Tropia. “cor any­one who is of Ger­man her­itage, this is a good way to make contact with your roots. But it is not lim­ited to just those with such a back­ground. Ev­ery­one is wel­come!” There will be plenty of old world at­mos­phere.
