The Mar­garet R. Grundy Memo­rial Li­brary, 680 Rad­cliffe Street, in­vites the pub­lic to the ex­hibit, “Har­ri­man and the Mer­chant Ship­build­ing Cor­po­ra­tionW the Rise of a Community.” The ex­hibit takes the viewer on a tour of Bris­tol’s ship­build­ing in­dus­try dur­ing World War I and the town of Har­ri­man that grew with it. The event be­gins Thurs­day, Oct. 11 with an open­ing re­cep­tion from 6W00 to 8W00 pm and con­tin­ues through Satur­day, kovem­ber 3, 2012 dur­ing reg­u­lar li­brary hours. cea­tured are his­toric pho­to­graphs, mem­o­ra­bilia, and news ar­ti­cles il­lus­trat­ing how an en­tire town, com­plete with a ho­tel, hospi­tal, and schools, was planned and built in only two years.
