Throughout history people have enjoyed animals as aides, companions, and workers. The Blessing of the Animals recognizes animals as blessings and provides an opportunity to give thanks to God for his good gifts of animals, especially pets. The event includes a short service and the blessing of the animals, which are, of course, welcome to come and be part of the celebration. cor the safety of the people and the pets that attend, make certain that animals are leashed, crated or caged throughout the event. While The Blessing of the Animals includes all animals, only household pets and domesticated livestock may participate.
