Setting the record straight
The Advance of Bucks County printed erroneous information in last week’s paper regarding Council Rock School Board member Jerold Grupp. On a Sunday during the summer break Mr. Grupp was touring renovations at Holland Elementary School, when a handgun he owned was seen by two employees on school property and was reported to the administration. The building was closed to the public, and no children were present. Mr. Grupp was never asked to surrender the gun and police were not called to the school as was reported by this paper. The administration notified Northampton Township Police per district policy and the matter was referred to Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler. According to the district attorney, Mr. Grupp was coming straight from a firing range, school was not in session at the time and he had a license to carry a concealed handgun and did nothing wrong. The Advance of Bucks County regrets the error and apologizes to Mr. Grupp for any problems this may have caused.
