Exhibit on shipbuilding in Harriman
The Margaret R. drundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe Street, invites the public to the exhibit, “Harriman and the Merchant Shipbuilding Corporation: the Rise of a Community.” The exhibit takes the viewer on a tour of Bristol’s shipbuilding industry during World War I and the town of Harriman that grew with it. Featured are historic photographs, memorabilia, and news articles illustrating how an entire town, complete with a hotel, hospital, and schools, was planned and built in only two years. Learn how the Merchant Shipbuilding Corporation made a lasting impact on Bristol Borough and discover how this historic endeavor shapes Bristol today. The exhibit is open through Saturday, Nov. 3 during regular library hours. For information, visit the drundy Library web page at www. grundylibrary.org, or call 215-788-7891 ext. 5 or ext. 6.
