Ath­lete of the Week: Trevor Leone, Bris­tol Foot­ball quar­ter­back

There have been more SUROLfic SDVVHUV LQ WKH DUHD this sea­son, but most of them have al­ready seen their sea­sons come to an end. Not so for Trevor Leone, a Bris­tol High ju­nior who is in his sec­ond year as a starter.

Twice this year, the Warriors have played Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Tech, and both times, Leone has thrown a pair of touch­down passes. That ac­com­plish­ment wasn’t enough in the sea­son opener, but when it counted most Nov. 16, he found one of his fa­vorite tar­gets in tight end Tyler Kelly for a game-win­ning touch­down.

The vic­tory avenged Bris­tol’s lone loss this year and sealed the District 1-12 sub­re­gional ti­tle, thus clinch­ing /HRQH’V fiUVW VWDWH SODyRII berth. Last week, he led the Warriors against District 11 cham­pion Wil­liams Val­ley.

The Yardley Makefield Soc­cer (YMS) Wild­fire cap­tured the Philadel­phia Area Girls Soc­cer (PAGS) U15 Di­vi­sion 4 Cham­pi­onship Nov. 11 with an over­all record of 8-1. The play­ers rep­re­sent Penns­bury, Hopewell Val­ley, Notre Dame, Villa Joseph Marie, Stein­ert, Ne­shaminy, Nazareth and Pen­ning­ton Prep high schools.
