Chamber orchestra opens season to packed house, ovation N
EWTOWN – “Holiday Strings” opened the Newtown Chamber Orchestra’s 2012-13 season to a packed house and a standing ovation in November.
Under the baton of music director Russell Hoffmann, D.M.A. the fntermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana was played in memory of Dr. Howard Leister, and featured cellists, nationally-known soloists, Daniel Delaney (violoncello) and David fnloes (cello) played Concerto in G Minor for Two Celli.
The season continues with Soloists on Stage on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. and Springfest on April 7 at 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of God’s Love, 791 Newtown Yardley Road, Newtown.
The Newtown Chamber Orchestra is a non-profit organization contributing to the rich cultural tradition of Bucks County.
fndividual concert tickets are A25 for adults and A20 for seniors and can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.newtownorchestra.org. Students and children are admitted free. There will be open seating and complimentary refreshments are served at all concerts.
