Grey Nuns in­stall new Lead­er­ship Board

LOWER MAKEFIELD - Five Grey Nuns of the Sa­cred Heart who com­prise the con­gre­ga­tion’s newly elected lead­er­ship took of­fice in June dur­ing an in­stal­la­tion cer­e­mony that in­cluded a spe­cial Mass and cel­e­bra­tory din­ner. The new Grey Nun Lead­er­ship Board will serve a five year term. They are, from left, Sis­ter Mary El­iz­a­beth Looby, Sis­ter Diane Bar­dol, Sis­ter Ju­lia Lani­gan (Pres­i­dent), Sis­ter Ce­celia Cos­grove and Sis­ter Dawn Gear. The Grey Nuns of the Sa­cred Heart trace their foun­da­tion to Mon­treal, Canada in 1737. Head­quar­tered in Yard­ley, they are the only U.S. or­der of Grey Nuns. Sis­ters serve in min­istries in Penn­sylva- nia, New Jersey, New York and Mary­land. Grey Nuns work in ed­u­ca­tion, health­care, so­cial work, pas­toral coun­sel­ing and ad­min­is­tra­tion, serv­ing di­verse pop­u­la­tions and work­ing for peace and so­cial jus­tice.
