Historic church opens its doors
The Historic Presbyterian Church, its gardens, and cemetery on Sycamore St. in Newtown will be open to the public for free guided tours this summer. The church will be open Sunday afternoons July 14 and 28, August 11 and September 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. All are welcome. The structure dates back to 1769. It has a long and interesting history including its use by General George Washington after the Battle of Trenton. The church was recently shown in the TV series “Who Do You Think You Are” featuring Rob Low and his search for his ancestors.
