M’ville-yard­ley Ro­tary has new chief

Juan Proano was sworn in as the new Pres­i­dent of the Mor­risville-Yard­ley Area Ro­tary Club for the Ro­tary year of July 2013 through June 2014.

Out­go­ing Pres­i­dent Michele Fina pre­sented him with the Pres­i­dent’s gavel at the re­cent “Chang­ing of the Gavel” party at Juan’s home in Wash­ing­ton Cross­ing. Fina is the Di­rec­tor of the Mor­risville YMCA and Juan is a min­ing en­gi­neer and min­ing ex­ec­u­tive from Peru.

In his ac­cep­tance re­marks, Juan iden­ti­fied three ma­jor ser­vice pro­ject goals for the club for the com­ing year: plant­ing a veg­etable and beau­ti­fi­ca­tion gar­den for the Grand View El­e­men­tary School in Mor­risville, com­ple­tion of the Delaware Canal Tow­path and Land­mark Towns sign pro­ject for Yard­ley and Mor­risville and com­ple­tion of the third phase of club’s Wa­ter Fil­ter Pro­ject in Lima, Peru.
