Cross­ing His­tory Camp

Chil­dren en­ter­ing grades 3-5 in Septem­ber 2013 are in­vited to par­tic­i­pate in our sum­mer his­tory camp pro­gram “Trav­el­ers of Colo­nial His­tory” at Wash­ing­ton Cross­ing His­toric Park Au­gust 5 to 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Par­tic­i­pants will ex­plore the Colo­nial era through games, crafts, cook­ing and more. At­ten­dance is limited to 30 chil­dren. Reg­is­tra­tions are ac­cepted on a first-come first-serve ba­sis un­til July 19. The cost is $150 for the first child in a fam­ily and $125 for ad­di­tional chil­dren. Pre-regis­tra­tion is re­quired. A stu­dent at Zhen­jiang High School in Jiangsu prov­ince, Gecheng Zhang, will present a view of life in Zhen­jiang to­day as he speaks about how Pearl S. Buck is revered in this city and oth­ers through a dis­cus­sion on her homes, mu­se­ums, and other Chi­nese memo­ri­als ded­i­cated to her legacy. The com­mu­nity is in­vited to be a part of this au­di­ence as he shares his unique in­sight into the life of a stu­dent in mod­ern day Zhen­jiang.
