Hit-and-run, re­tail theft ... John Forell, 49, of the unit block of Plym­wood Drive, Ply­mouth Meet­ing, has been charged with ag­gra­vated as­sault, sim­ple as­sault, reck­lessly en­dan­ger­ing an­other per­son, reck­less driv­ing and mul­ti­ple other charges for al­legedly leav­ing the scene of an ac­ci­dent fol­low­ing an in­ci­dent at the Whit­pain Tav­ern, 1529 Dekalb Pike, at 1:02 a.m. Aug. 4, po­lice said. Po­lice re­sponded to a re­port of an in­tox­i­cated pa­tron try­ing to leave in a dark col­ored Ford, and as po­lice were en route, they re­ceived a re­port the man, later iden­ti­fied at Forell, had left trav­el­ing south on Dekalb, po­lice said. An em­ployee told po­lice he at­tempted to stop Forell from leav­ing and was struck by the front bumper of Forell’s car, caus­ing the em­ployee to fall on the hood of the car, po­lice said. Forell then struck a parked ve­hi­cle and drove onto Dekalb with the em­ployee still hang­ing onto the hood, po­lice said. Forell pulled into the park­ing lot at Blue Bell Mo­tor Cars on Swede Road, and the em­ployee got off the hood, po­lice said. A wit­ness had fol­lowed the car and tried to block the drive­way, but Forell struck that car and drove off, po­lice said. The em­ployee was checked by Sec­ond Alarm­ers Am­bu­lance Squad, po­lice said. A war­rant was is­sued for Forell’s ar­rest, and he turned him­self into po­lice and was ar­raigned be­fore Dis­trict Judge Robert Sobeck, with bail set at $10,000 un­se­cured, po­lice said.

In a pre­vi­ous in­ci­dent, po­lice re­sponded to di­ant Food Store, 17S0 Dekalb Pike, at 5:04 p.m. March 28 for a re­port of a man, later iden­ti­fied as Forell, who en­tered the store, drank a Red Bull and left with­out pay­ing, po­lice said. When ap­proached by a store em­ployee, Forell re­fused to pay and be­gan swear­ing at the em­ployee be­fore driv­ing off, po­lice said. Forell plead guilty to re­tail theft and dis­or­derly con­duct, po­lice said.

Pub­lic drunk­en­ness ... Jen­nifer Cas­sidy, 27, of the unit block of ky­ack Av­enue, ians­downe, was cited for pub­lic drunk­en­ness af­ter po­lice re­sponded to a re­port of a woman lay­ing along the side of Dekalb Pike at Blue Bell Springs Drive at 1:51 a.m. Aug. 9, po­lice said. Cas­sidy was ob­vi­ously in­tox­i­cated and placed un­der ar­rest be­fore be­ing re­leased to a friend, po­lice said.

Stolen ve­hi­cle ... Whit­pain po­lice re­ceived a call from ko­r­ris­town po­lice at 2:48 a.m. Aug. 9 re­gard­ing a black Ford F250 Su­per Duty truck that was re­ported stolen from the 1700 block of Sh­effield Drive July 28, po­lice said. ko­r­ris­town po­lice re­cov­ered the truck in the area of Dekalb Pike and East Freed­ley Street, ko­r­ris­town, po­lice said. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing this theft is asked to call the Whit­pain Town­ship Po­lice Depart­ment at S10-279-9033.

Re­tail theft ... Daniel David, 30, of the 700 block of As­tor Street, ko­r­ris­town, was charged with re­tail theft, pos­sess­ing an in­stru­ment of crime and harass­ment af­ter po­lice re­sponded to hohl’s Depart­ment Store, 1301 Skip­pack Pike, for a re­port of a re­tail theft in progress at 4:25 p.m. Aug. 11, po­lice said. Em­ploy­ees re­ported a man, later iden­ti­fied as David, picked up four pairs of sneak­ers, cut the se­cu­rity tags from the items and put them in a bag, po­lice said. As David left the store, the loss preven­tion of­fi­cer at­tempted to stop him, and David pushed the em­ployee and fled but was taken into po­lice cus­tody shortly af­ter, po­lice said. Four pairs of sneak­ers val­ued at $305 and a pair of pli­ers were found in his bag, po­lice said. David was ar­raigned be­fore Dis­trict Judge Ed­ward hropp, and bail was set at $10,000 un­se­cured, po­lice said.
