The Ambler Gazette - - OPINION - By Thomas Celona

If you thought you saw a famous face in the area last week, your eyes may not have been playing tricks on you.

Several Hollywood stars were in the area this past weekend as filming for an upcoming motion picture took place in the Fort Washington section of Whitemarsh Township.

Crews from the forthcoming film “3aranoia” shot scenes in town Thursday, Aug. 9, Friday, Aug. 10, and Monday, Aug. 13, according to a representative from the Greater 3hiladelphia Film 2ffice. The shooting took place at the Arbor Hill estate on Sheaff Lane. The 70-acre estate, which is owned by former Advanta Corp. CEO Dennis Alter, is currently on the market for between $20 million and $30 mil- lion, according to media reports.

Based on Joseph Finder’s novel of the same name, “3aranoia” stars Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford and other big-name actors in a corporate espionage thriller in which Oldman’s character blackmails his employee, played by Hemsworth, into spying on a rival company, according to a press release from Reliance Entertainment. Directed by Robert Luke- tic, the film is set to hit theaters Sept. 27, 2013.

While the Greater 3hiladelphia Film Office could not confirm which of the films stars were on set in Fort Washington, The 3hiladelphia InTuirer reported both Hemsworth and Oldman shot scenes, along with Julian McMahon, famous for his role on “1ip/Tuck,” and Embeth Davidtz, who recently stared on “Mad Men.”
