Eugene F. Peterson, 91, of Oreland, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of June (Rose) Peterson, his beloved wife of 60 years.
Born Sept. 21, 1920, in Boston, Mass., he was the son of the late Eugene and Claudia (Swihart) Peterson.
Mr. Peterson received his master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He was employed as a quality control engineer with Leeds & Northrup for over 40 years, retiring in 1987.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Peterson served his country honorably during World War II. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America and the Oreland Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mark F. Peterson and his wife, Susan, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Deborah J. Peterson of North Wales; and two grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at St. Philip-In-The-Fields Episcopal Church, 317 Oreland Mill Road, Oreland. Arrangements by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
