Eu­gene Peter­son

Eu­gene F. Peter­son, 91, of Ore­land, died Tues­day, Sept. 11, 2012, at his res­i­dence. He was the hus­band of June (Rose) Peter­son, his beloved wife of 60 years.

Born Sept. 21, 1920, in Bos­ton, Mass., he was the son of the late Eu­gene and Claudia (Swi­hart) Peter­son.

Mr. Peter­son re­ceived his mas­ter’s de­gree in elec­tri­cal engi­neer­ing from the Univer­sity of Penn­syl­va­nia. He was em­ployed as a qual­ity con­trol en­gi­neer with Leeds & Northrup for over 40 years, re­tir­ing in 1987.

A vet­eran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Peter­son served his coun­try hon­or­ably dur­ing World War II. He was ac­tive with the Boy Scouts of Amer­ica and the Ore­land Lions Club.

In ad­di­tion to his wife, he is sur­vived by his chil­dren, Mark F. Peter­son and his wife, Su­san, of Boca Ra­ton, Fla., and Deb­o­rah J. Peter­son of North Wales; and two grand­chil­dren.

The memo­rial ser­vice will be held 2 p.m. Sun­day, Sept. 23, 2012, at St. Philip-In-The-Fields Epis­co­pal Church, 317 Ore­land Mill Road, Ore­land. Ar­range­ments by Huff & Lak­jer Funeral Home, Lans­dale.
