ACTRESS ERIN MORAN FOUND DEAD; CAUSE UNDETERMINED

Erin Moran, who played Joanie Cunningham in the sitcoms “Happy Days” and “Joanie Loves Chachi,” has died.

Police in Harrison County, Indiana, said that she had been found unresponsive Saturday after authorities received a 911 call. She was 56, and the cause of death has not been determined. Moran had endured numerous struggles in recent years.

Moran was already a veteran actress when in 1974 she was cast in “Happy Days” as Joanie, the kid sister to Ron Howard’s Richie Cunningham in the sitcom.

THOUSANDS FLEE IN FLORIDA AS BRUSH FIRE GROWS

A growing brush fire in South Florida destroyed buildings and forced thousands of people from their homes as emergency crews scrambled Saturday to beat back the blaze. One person was hurt.

As of late Saturday afternoon, the blaze was at 5,500 acres, with 20% containment, Florida Gov. Rick Scott said. The blaze had destroyed nine homes, officials said.

AMERICAN GROUNDS FLIGHT ATTENDANT AFTER SPAT

American Airlines says it has grounded a flight attendant who got into a confrontation with a passenger after the flight attendant took a baby stroller away from another passenger.

Spokeswoman Leslie Scott said the airline is looking into whether the male flight attendant violently took the stroller from the passenger just before she boarded a Friday flight from San Francisco to Dallas. He has been removed from duty in the meantime.

A video taken by a passenger and posted on Facebook shows the sobbing woman holding a small child and saying, “You can’t use violence with a baby.”

Later, a male passenger confronts the flight attendant, telling him, “You do that to me and I’ll knock you flat.” The flight attendant responds with, “Hit me. Bring it on.”

WHITE HOUSE REPLACES SURGEON GENERAL

The Trump administration has dismissed U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said Friday that Rear Adm. Sylvia Trent-Adams, the deputy surgeon general, will be acting surgeon general.

Murthy was nominated by former president Obama in November 2013 and confirmed by the Senate more than a year later.
