Southwestern Amateur
The list of past champions since the event’s inception in 2000 is a who’s who in golf, and includes Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Webb Simpson, Paula Creamer and Inbee Park.
Notable players in this year’s field include twin brothers Parker and Pierceson Coody, whose grandfather Charles Coody was the 1971 Masters champion; Paphangkorn Tavatanakit of Thailand, currently No. 1 on the Polo Golf Rankings; and Khavish Varadan of Malaysia, winner of the AJGA Junior Players Championship last year.
The 102nd Southwestern Amateur is set for June 14-17, returning for the fifth consecutive year to Scottsdale’s Desert Mountain courses.
The event showcases primarily collegiate golfers, who will compete on Desert Mountain’s Geronimo and Cochise courses.

Women’s Four Ball championship
Kerry Postillion of Scottsdale will be teaming up with her niece, Jennifer Liedes of Olympia, Wash., as the only aunt-niece team in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship May 27-31 at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Postillion is a three-time U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur runner-up and has competed in two U.S. Women’s Opens.
