“No foul play is suspected” in the death of a young woman whose body was found in Lake Lanier, Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson said.

The body of 19-year-old Katherine Scott Landrum from Forsyth County was pulled from the lake Wednesday.

She had been reported missing Tuesday night about 9:30 p.m., Johnson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday.

She had gone to visit a friend in the area of the Athens Boat Club, which is on Dogwood Drive in Dawsonville.

Landrum was alone when she disappeared, the sheriff said.

The Department of Natural Resources, Dawson County Fire/Rescue Division, the Georgia State Patrol and the Hall County Sheriff ’s Office were involved in the search, Johnson said.
