City’s millage rate unchanged again

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - - COUNTY BY COUNTY - KAREN HUPPERTZ FOR THE AJC

Following a third and final public hearing, the Suwanee City Council voted Aug. 28 to adopt a millage rate of 4.93 mills, the same rate used in the proposed Fiscal Year 2019 budget and the same rate used by the city over the past six years.

This millage rate of 4.93 is higher than the calculated rollback rate of 4.809 mills. The adopted rate is anticipated to generate a 2.52 percent increase in property taxrevenues thanks to increased property values.

The taxincrease for a home with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $30.24 and the tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $720,000 is approximately $72.58.
