Ap­ply now for Har­vest Farm gar­den plots

Reg­is­tra­tion is now open for the 2019 sea­son at Har­vest Farm in Suwa­nee, Ge­or­gia’s largest or­ganic com­mu­nity gar­den. Har­vest Farm, lo­cated in Suwa­nee’s White Street Park, of­fers 76 plots that can be rented on an an­nual ba­sisto grow veg­gies, fruits, flow­ers and herbs.

Plots are avail­able in three sizes. Small plots are 5 feet by 5 feet for $50 per year, medium plots are 5 feet by 9 feet and $75 per year, and large plots are 5 feet by 12 feet and rent for $100 per year. An an­nual $15 reg­is­tra­tion fee is added.

Fees in­clude use of a raised bed, util­i­ties, ba­sic com­mu­nity tools, so­cial and ed­u­ca­tional events, and com­post (when avail­able). Gar­den­ers will in­cur per­sonal ex­penses for seeds, plants, amend­ments, stakes, trel­lises, etc.

Plots are as­signed on a first­come first-served ba­sis with pri­or­ity given to Suwa­nee res­i­dents, prop­erty own­ers and tax­pay­ers. Suwa­nee res­i­dents/tax­pay­ers also re­ceive a 25 per­cent dis­count on reg­is­tra­tion fees. Since the suc­cess of the gar­den de­pends upon

the sup­port of its gar­den­ers, each plot mem­ber is re­quired to con­trib­ute 12 hours of vol­un­teer ser­vice a year.
