The world through your eyes

- PAMELA MILLER

Calling amateur photographers! Have you taken a great picture that you’d like to share with the world? One with action, great lighting and/or interesting subjects? E-mail it to communitynews@ajc.com. Please no selfies, for-profit promotional pics, group shots or anything you wouldn’t want your grandma to see. Jim Williams submitted this photo while fly fishing in August on the Upper Green River in Wyoming’s Wind River Valley. According to visitpinedale. org, the Wind Mountains (background) contain more than 40 named peaks over 13,000 feet, including Gannett Peak, Wyoming’s highest at 13,804 feet. Seven of the largest glaciers in the Rocky Mountains are found there, including the single largest glacier in the American Rockies. The Continental Divide crests the Wind River Range’s entire length.

Dedrick Burch shared this photo from Watkins Glen State Park in Watkins Glen, New York. According to the New York State parks department, Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen’s stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. Rim trails overlook the gorge. Campers and dayvisitors can enjoy the Olympicsize pool, scheduled summer tours through the gorge, tent and trailer campsites, picnic facilities and excellent fishing in nearby Seneca Lake.

The result this morning meant everyone was happy with the news and satisfied with the greenery!”
