Meeting on Victory Villa changes to be held
The committee charged with considering boundary change options for the Victory Villa Elementary School community will host a public information session Wednesday, March 15 at Middle River Middle School, 800 Middle River Rd. on to share options for revised attendance boundaries. Meeting attendees will learn about the boundary change process, review data used to develop the options, and speak directly to committee members. The options for revised attendance areas also will be shared online, and all members of the public are invited to participate in an online survey. The online survey, available at http://www. bcps.org/construction/VictoryVilla/, will begin on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, and end at midnight on Monday, March 27, 2017.
The Victory Villa boundary review/ change process involves the following elementary schools: Glenmar, Haw
thorne, Martin Boulevard, Middlesex, Orems, Shady Spring, Victory Villa, and Vincent Farm.
Shuttle service from most participating schools to Middle River Middle School will be provided as follows:
Shady Spring ES- 6:10 p.m. Victory Villa ES- 6:20 p.m. Orems ES- 6:30 p.m. Arrive Middle River MS- 6:40 p.m.
Vincent Farm ES- 6:10 p.m. Middlesex ES- 6:25 p.m. Hawthorne ES- 6:30 p.m. Martin Blvd ES- 6:35 p.m. Arrive Middle River MS- 6:40 p.m. With the support of the Board of Edu- cation, Baltimore County government, and the state delegation, Baltimore County Public Schools is in the midst of a $1.3 billion capital plan, Schools for Our Future. This initiative will add seats to address increasing enrollment and improve existing facilities.
The reconstruction of Victory Villa Elementary School is underway and is scheduled to open August 2018. Since January 11, 2017, a committee of parents, community members, school officials, and representatives of the Victory Villa Elementary School community has reviewed a variety of boundary options. The committee will use input from the information session and from the online survey to help make a boundary change recommendation to the Board of Education on May 9, 2017.
