BCoPD ar­rest bur­glary sus­pect

On August 22, 2017, Bal­ti­more County Po­lice re­leased sur­veil­lance pho­to­graphs of a sus­pect con­nected to sev­eral bur­glar­ies through­out the Bal­ti­more County area. Me­dia cov­er­age re­sulted in de­tec­tives re­ceiv­ing in­for­ma­tion lead­ing to the iden- tifi­ca­tion of the man. Richard Leroy Pierce, 63, of the 800-block of Seag­ull Av­enue, 21225 has been charged with seven counts of sec­ond­de­gree bur­glary, five counts of theft be­tween $1,000 to $10,000, two counts of theft un­der $1,000, and one count of fourth-de­gree bur­glary.

Since June this sus­pect had bur­glar­ized sev­eral busi­nesses through­out Bal­ti­more County, mainly within the White Marsh and Cock­eysville precincts, in­clud­ing a nurs­ing home, a con­struc­tion com­pany, med­i­cal of­fices, in­sur­ance com­pany of­fices, and one el­e­men­tary school.

Pierce is cur­rently be­ing held with­out bail at the Bal­ti­more County De­ten­tion Cen­ter. The Po­lice De­part­ment would like to thank the me­dia and the pub­lic for as­sist­ing in the clo­sure of these cases.
