The holidays are for the dogs!

Quite literally, if Paws To The Wall Pet Services has anything to say about it.

The pet-sitting and dogwalking company of Essex is hoping to spread some joy and encourage some happy wagging tails with a “photo with Santa” event for charity.

On Sunday, December 10, your pet can get their photo taken with Santa Claus at Mid- dlesex Elementary School at 142 Bennett Rd. all while contributing some Christmas cheer to those in need.

The first photo with Santa is free with the donation of a toy. Kelly Stowell, one of the foundera of Paws To The Wall, created the event in order to use her company to do good this holiday season. The toys collected and the money raised will go towards Toys for Tots.

Her services had included “Puppy Playtime” events, where residents were able to bring their dogs around to play with and socialize with other pups. The service was free, although a donation to a charity was encouraged. She received so much support for this that she decided to branch off and put her clients’ charity to good use.

“We spun it off on doing a fundraiser for Toys For Tots so all kids can have more gifts for the holiday. I never want to see a child not have a good Christmas. Everyone should have that joy of being able to open up a present on Christ- mas morning,” she said.

Any additional pictures with family, friends, kids and pets may be purchased (printed) for a small cost through our photographer. The photographer will not be making any money off of the pictures, she’s charging just for the cost of the printing and any additional money will go directly to purchasing more toys to brighten a child’s Christmas.

The photographer will be local resident and Paws to the Wall client, Darlene Hagan, who is donating all her time.

“It’s just a chance for anyone be a hero and give back and help more children have surprises on Christmas.” said Stowell. “That’s what it should all be about.”

All pups, from poodles to Pomeranians are welcome.

Pictures will begin on a first come, first serve basis at 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. and puppy playtime will follow at 4 p.m. There will be coffee and hot chocolate for the humans and treats for their furry friends.

There are the picture pack- ages available if you decide to get the more than just the free picture. $5 from each of these packages will also go to purchasing toys for more children for the holidays.
