The 7th annual installment of the Rockin’ on the River event held at the Wilson Point Men’s Club on Sunday, August 26 brought out crowds of thousands who were ready to rock and enjoy the warm summer day.

Local bands Kanye Twitty, Red Dirt Revolution, Crushing Day, The Damn Connellys, The New Romance, and Awaken all provided live music as people posted up lawn chairs along the waterfront.

The concert was originally scheduled for June 3 at Conrad’s Ruth Villa in Middle River but it was postponed due to rain. Those involved with the Rockin’ on the River still promised that the event was going to be bigger and better than ever despite this setback after the Men’s Club stepped up and offered the venue.

The money raised from the event benefits local organizations such as the Back River Restoration Committee, which was integral in making the event happen.
