3 arrested after search warrant is served at suspected meth lab
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested three individuals on Thursday on suspicion of narcotics and weapons charges following a search warrant served by deputies with the Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area in east Bakersfield.
Andrew Perez, 31, was arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies related to narcotic sales and weapon violation charges, according to KCSO. Mauricio Alvarez, 31, of San Jose, and Kassandra Manriquez, 27, of San Jose, were also arrested on suspicion of charges related to narcotics sales.
Deputies served a search warrant at a residence located in the 1900 block of Williams Street. When deputies tried to detain Perez outside the house, he tried fleeing on foot and discarded a stolen firearm, KCSO said. He was caught and taken into custody.
While serving the warrant at the residence, deputies located a methamphetamine conversion lab on the property. Personnel from Kern County Environmental Health and Bakersfield Fire Department Hazmat Team went to the residence to assist deputies in the safe collection of evidence, according to KCSO.
Deputies located and seized five firearms, $10,450, 2.3 pounds of processed marijuana and about 127 marijuana plants, ammunition, 77.8 pounds of suspected liquid methamphetamine and 81.9 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Friday morning following an investigation into a Sept. 26 shooting in Wasco.
Alejandro Jauregui, 22, was arrested and booked into Kern County Jail for an active felony Ramey arrest warrant on suspicion of attempted murder.
On Sept. 26 at 9 p.m., KCSO deputies were dispatched to a shooting in the 1000 block of 16th Street in Wasco. They found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was alert and conscious at the scene, but due to the seriousness of his injuries, he was airlifted to Kern Medical for treatment and was listed in critical but stable condition, KCSO said in a news release.
KCSO deputies determined Jauregui was the shooting suspect. On Friday at about 9 a.m. he was arrested in the 5100 block of Stockdale Highway in Bakersfield.
The Bakersfield Police Department made an arrest Thursday evening during the department’s continued effort to combat gang violence.
Pedro Gonzalez, 36, was arrested on suspicion of gang participation, being a felon in possession of a firearm and narcotics related charges, BPD said in a news release.
At about 9:55 p.m. officers conducted a vehicle code enforcement stop on a car in the 3200 block of Riverside Drive. During a probation search of the vehicle, a loaded stolen firearm and methamphetamine were discovered, BPD said.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested two suspects possibly connected in the death of an individual found in Lamont on Friday morning.
According to a KCSO news release, 47-year-old Jose Maldonado and 37-yearold Antonio Barraza were taken into custody during an investigation following the discovery of human remains located at a residence in the 10000 block of Elmco Avenue. Both suspects have been booked into the Kern County Jail, KCSO said.
The identity of the victim was not immediately available. The incident is being investigated as a homicide, KCSO said. Anyone with information is asked to call 861-3110 or Secret Witness at 322-4040.
